Ongeri Expeditions is a Kenyan owned luxury safari company in Karen, Nairobi, founded by Abner Ongeri.
Abner grew up in Kisii, a few hours from the edge of the Maasai Mara. He watched the migration cross long before the world arrived to photograph it.
It shows in the small things. Which suite catches Kilimanjaro at a quarter to seven. Which guide suits a nervous first timer. Which conservancy holds the cats in September.
We are not interpreting Kenya for you. We are from here.
We stay small on purpose. The person who designs your journey is the person who answers when you call from an airstrip at six in the morning.
Some people would rather fill something in at midnight. Others would rather talk. Both land with the same designer.
Fill in Plan Your Safari at your own pace, or write, call or WhatsApp. Not sure yet is a real answer.
One named person, a real route back within a day, and an honest note on anything that will not work as imagined.
Most journeys change shape once or twice before they are right. Nothing is fixed until you say it is.
The same person from the first call to the last transfer. Kenya based, so it is a phone call rather than an overnight email.
Our most loved luxury safari itineraries across Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Zanzibar, from 6 to 12 days and from USD 11,000 per person. Each one is curated, tested and refined by our team in Nairobi.
Every month brings its own highlight, from calving on the Serengeti to gorillas in Rwanda, the Great Migration in the Maasai Mara and island escapes to Zanzibar, the Seychelles and Mauritius.
Explore the Year WheelFounded and run from Karen, Nairobi, with our own ground teams in Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda. When a plan changes on the day, someone local is already there to fix it.
One named person designs your journey, sends a first route within 24 hours, and stays with you until you are home. No handovers, no case numbers.
Designed with intention, curated with precision. Every detail is tailored to you, creating a journey that is entirely your own.
We work only with the camps, lodges and guides we have stayed in, travelled with, and trust by name. No others.
Through Ongeri Philanthropy, a share of every journey funds the conservation and community projects we support each year. Not a gesture. A commitment.
Through Ongeri philanthropy, a portion of every safari supports the conservation efforts and community initiatives that keep these landscapes — and the people who call them home — thriving for generations to come.

Straight answers to what guests ask us most. For anything else, one of our experts will answer the same day.
Our Kenya journeys start from USD 11,000 per person for 6 days at Angama Mara, and from USD 16,450 per person for 9 days across Amboseli, the Maasai Mara and Laikipia. The price depends on the season, the camps and how you fly between them.
All year round. Every month has its own highlight: calving in the southern Serengeti from January to March, green landscapes and the best value in April and May, gorilla season in Rwanda from June, and the Great Migration in the Maasai Mara from July to October. See our month by month guide.
For gorilla trekking in Rwanda and the busiest Mara months, we suggest 9 to 12 months ahead, because the best camps and permits sell out first. For other months, 3 to 6 months is usually enough.
Yes. We secure permits for Volcanoes National Park as part of your journey. Permits are limited each day, so we book them as soon as you confirm.
Yes. We pair luxury safaris in Kenya and Tanzania with private island stays in Zanzibar, the Seychelles and Mauritius, such as our 9 Day Kenya and Seychelles and our 10 Day Kenya Safari and Mauritius Beach.
Yes. We plan family safaris with private vehicles, family suites and whole private villas, such as our Private Villa Family Safari in the Maasai Mara. Some camps set minimum ages, and we plan around them.
We arrange every flight, private charter, road transfer and park fee within East Africa. International flights and entry visas are not included, and we guide you through both.
