STAY AT Giraffe Manor and kickstart your luxury Kenya safari from Nairobi in style.

GETTING THERE Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by a member of the team who will transfer you to Giraffe Manor. It is approximately a thirty minute drive from the airport and takes you along the edge of Nairobi National park.

EXPERIENCE Giraffe Manor which is quite unlike anywhere else in the world. This luxury boutique hotel is located within a small wildlife sanctuary in a leafy suburb of Nairobi and is home to a herd of Rothschild’s giraffes who roam freely around the grounds, (alongside several warthog families!) Guests can experience getting up close and personal with giraffe like nowhere else in the world* – don’t be alarmed if they make an appearance at your breakfast table by popping their heads through the window. The Giraffe Centre next door to the manor is great for learning all about the conservation of the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe in Kenya. There are lots of places nearby to indulge your shopping desires and purchase unique gifts from talented local artisans and designers.

*The giraffe at Giraffe Manor are wild and we cannot guarantee interaction with them at any given time.

STAY AT Siruai Expedition Camp your next stop on your safari from Nairobi.

GETTING THERE Depart at 11:00 am from Nairobi Wilson Airport (a short twenty minute drive from Giraffe Manor) to land in Laikipia via Scenic Air private charter flight. Upon arrival you will be met and taken to Siruai Expedition Camp, with a scenic game drive en-route if you choose.

EXPERIENCE Siruai Expedition Camp offers a traditional Africa safari camp and wild safari experience, enabling you to feel immersed in nature without compromising on comfort. Enjoy the romance of sleeping under canvas in the Kenyan wilderness, beneath the stars. Bath using a traditional ‘bucket’ shower and take time to relax around an open campfire at night, listening to the sounds of the African wilderness. The camp boasts spectacular views over the vast Laikipia plains and Mount Kenya, and great game viewing opportunities, including a chance to track the elusive and endangered African wild dog. When not out viewing elephants, lions, Grevy’s zebra and other game, take a walk to explore the rocky ridge lines and winding river valleys in the area. Kayaking down the Ewaso Narok River and breakfasting beside hippo pools are some of the unforgettable memories you will make during your stay at Siruai. The freedom to walk, kayak and simply explore nature at your own pace is what really makes Siruai Expedition Camp such a special Africa safari camp. With no permanent structures, no internet and no other visitors in the area, you will find it to be a liberating retreat into the wilderness.

STAY AT Solio Lodge

GETTING THERE Depart from Siruai at 09:30 am via Tropic Air private charter flight to Solio.

EXPERIENCE Located on a 45,000 acre private ranch, Solio Lodge is one of the best places in the world to see rhinos. Founded in 1970 as the world’s first private rhino sanctuary, it is now home to over 200 rhinos (black and white) and game drives over the open plains can lead to sightings of up to fifty at a time, which is an astonishing sight to behold. Guests can enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, with great opportunities to spot prides of lion, leopard, and buffalo, to name but a few. Solio is a haven of luxury and tranquillity, with homegrown goodness from the lodge’s own organic herb and veggie garden on offer every mealtime, spa treatments and massages available in your room and a serene garden from which to sit back and enjoy the bird life and views of Mount Kenya. If you are feeling active, there is horse riding available at the lodge, as well as guided game walks. Helicopter trips to the top of Mount Kenya and trout fishing excursions to the Aberdare National Park are also fun activities on offer here.

STAY AT Ajabu House

GETTING THERE Embark from Solio at 09:00 am for an exciting drive through the Aberdare National Park on your way to Ajabu House, located on the edge of Lake Naivasha. Depending on how long you stop for wildlife sightings and a picnic, the drive takes around five hours.

EXPERIENCE Take a well-earned rest in this secluded, peaceful family home, nestled under magnificent giant fig trees on the edge of a shimmering lake. The giant wooden veranda jutting out over the lake is the perfect spot from which to enjoy the abundant birdlife and magnificent views over the lake to Mount Longonot. Play a leisurely game of tennis on the clay court or take a boat ride on the lake to spot hippos. Water-skiing, tubing and kayaking on the lake are great fun for all the family.
