5 Days Uganda primate and Gorilla Safari is the most popular Uganda Safaris experience, it combines a half day of endangered Chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale Forest National Park and a lifetime mountain Gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi.

This Safari will not only give you a chance to trek Chimpanzees in Kibale Forest but also expect to encounter Golden Monkeys, L’hoestes, Red-Colobus, Blues, Red-tailed Monkeys and Grey Cheeked Mangabeys swinging through the dense forest and birds, Butterflies and many small insects among other Primate Species. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is also known as a home of mountain Gorillas and Albertine rift valley endemic birds in Buhoma Sector since it inhibits 346 bird Species that makes it the best destination of birding expeditions in the Pearl of Africa.

Our experienced guide will pick you up from the Airport upon arrival and take you to your hotel where you will check in and rest ahead of the following day’s activities.

Your primate and Gorilla Safari in Uganda will begin with a briefing by our experienced Safari guide and later embark on the Safari to Kibale Forest National Park through Papyrus Swamps and thick jungle. A stopover at Mukwano Tea Estate -Kyarusozi for a Tea Farm tour briefly and proceed to Fort Portal for lunch at Chimpundu, latterly drive to Kibale Forest National Park headquarters for a briefing from the skilled Wildlife rangers and then embark on a Chimpanzee trekking excursion. Trekking normally takes 3 hours or more and a final encounter with the soughtafter creatures is gratifying especially the birdlife. Return to the Lodge and rest.

Chimpundu Lodge / Crater Safari Lodge

You will depart from Kibale National Park after having breakfast and travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, harboring close to half of the World’s population of the endangered Mountain Gorillas. On your way to Bwindi Forest, you will pass through Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Ishasha region which is famous for being a habitat for the tree-climbing lions. Meal plan (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

After breakfast, prepare for your day’s Gorilla trekking excursion with packed Lunch boxes and proceed to the Park headquarters for a briefing on the Gorilla trekking etiquettes by UWA guides and rangers -tacked in your trekking jungle boots, rain jacket with your walking sticks advance for the activity. Gorilla trekking is unpredictable; the Gorilla tracking excursion can take from 2 up to 8 hours. Be ready to walk along distance in steep and muddy conditions, the floor is always wet but exerting and so rewarding.

You will have breakfast at 8:00am and then set out on a drive back to Kampala -a brief stopover at Igongo Cultural Centre for a Lunch break and at the Equator Monument in Kayabwe-Masaka. This will mark the end of your 5-day primate and Gorilla Trekking Safari in Uganda
