KENYA
INTERNATIONAL BORDERS OPEN WITH RESTRICTIONS
In addition to all current entry requirements, on arrival into Kenya the latest information provided on COVID protocols by the Kenyan government is as follows:

- All guests coming to Kenya who are fully vaccinated shall be exempt from the requirement of a PCR test. The following categories of guests may also enter subject to requirements:
- Guests with medical conditions precluding vaccination. Such persons shall be required to provide a letter from a recognized medical practitioner detailing the medical reason precluding vaccination
- Guests who have recovered from an active COVID-19 infection or received convalescent plasma in the preceding 90 days. Such persons shall be required to provide a letter from a recognized medical practitioner showing that the person may have recovered from an active infection in the preceding 90 days
- Fully Vaccinated means one dose of a single-dose vaccine or both doses of a two-dose vaccine. Please check whether your vaccine is a single-dose or multi-dose vaccine
- All unvaccinated guests arriving at any port of entry into Kenya, must be in possession of a valid COVID-19 negative PCR test certificate conducted within 72 hours before departure regardless of the route of entry. Children below the age of 5 years are exempt from this requirement
- Unvaccinated guests arriving at any point of entry shall be subjected to rapid antigen test at their own cost of 30 USD. Any persons who test positive on antigen RDT will be subjected to PCR test at their own further cost of 50 USD and required to self-isolate. Guests below the age of 5 years are exempt from this testing requirement
RWANDA
INTERNATIONAL BORDERS OPEN WITH RESTRICTIONS
- Passengers are required to complete a Public Health Passenger Locator Form before arriving in Rwanda
- Guests must take a COVID-19 RT-PCR (Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction) test in the country of origin at an ISO certified laboratory, 72 hours before first departure to Rwanda. They are required to submit the results of the first test to the following address lab@rbc.gov.rw before departure and ensure they have a printed copy of the results in hand upon arrival at the airport.
- All arriving passengers will be required to take a RT-PCR and Ag RDT COVID-19 test on arrival
- Arriving passengers are no longer required to quarantine in designated hotels
- Mandatory tests taken on arrival will be paid for upon arrival at Kigali International Airport
- Tourists, including children over 5 years, where applicable, visiting the country’s national parks, will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours. An RT-PCR COVID-19 test is required for all visitors wishing to see primates at Volcanoes, Nyungwe and Gishwati-Mukura National Parks.
- The cost of a COVID-19 test will be at the guest’s expense – approximately USD 60 per test, we recommend all guests are prepared to make payment via credit card. In the event of technical payment issues we also recommend traveling with a minimum of USD 250 per person in new bills and small denominations for any eventualities
- Guests may be subjected to further health screening (temperature scanning and asked few questions about their heath). If at any time the guests exhibit any symptoms or test positive they will be quarantined at their own cost
- While in the country, guests are expected to abide by guidelines of the Health Ministry and specific guidelines for tourists’ attractions including National Parks

- Another mandatory test is to be taken 72 hours prior to departure from Rwanda, either in Kigali or a selection of popular tourist areas
TANZANIA & ZANZIBAR
INTERNATIONAL BORDERS OPEN WITH RESTRICTIONS
In addition to all current entry requirements, on arrival into Tanzania & Zanzibar the latest information that has been furnished to us by the Tanzanian government officials is as follows:
- All guests are required to truthfully fill in an online Traveller’s Health Surveillance Form available at https://afyamsafiri.moh.go.tz/ (Mainland) and https://healthtravelznz.mohz.go.tz/traveller/#/home (Zanzibar)
- Fully vaccinated guests will be exempted from both RT PCR and Rapid Antigen Test requirements. Guests will be required to present a valid vaccination certificate with QR code for verification upon arrival. The only accepted vaccines are those which have been approved by the United Republic of Tanzania and the World Health Organization
- Fully Vaccinated means one dose of a single-dose vaccine or both doses of a two-dose vaccine. Please check whether your vaccine is a single-dose or multi-dose vaccine
- Guests not fully vaccinated, unvaccinated and those not eligible for vaccination due to their country policy will be required to present a negative COVID-19 RT- PCR or NAATs certificate with QR code obtained within 72 hours before departure. Guests may be tested on arrival per www.moh.go.tz using a Rapid Antigen Test at their own cost of 10 USD (TZS 23,000) for Tanzania Mainland. If found positive they will be tested with RT- PCR for confirmation, allowed to self-isolate and the results will be sent via email or any other means
- Guests to Tanzania who are eligible for Rapid Antigen Test per the above are advised to pay online to avoid unnecessary queues upon arrival, through an automatically generated control number obtained after filling the online Traveller’s Health Surveillance Form
- Guests in transit by air transport are exempted from both vaccination and COVID 19 testing requirements unless stated otherwise by the conveyance to be used or countries of their final destinations.
- All departing guests are advised to seek information prior to departure from travel agent regarding COVID-19 requirements of their country of destination or conveyance to be used
The following are required to complete the Travellers Surveillance Form:
- Your passport information
- Your travel details, including times and dates
- You will receive a confirmation notification – the notification will contain your Unique Health Code (UHC) which you will present upon arriving in Tanzania at the health desk
- Some mobile devices may not display the QR codes or forms correctly – we recommend obtaining a different browser app or using an alternative device as a workaround to this
UGANDA
INTERNATIONAL BORDERS OPEN WITH RESTRICTIONS
In addition to all current entry requirements, on arrival into Uganda the latest information provided on COVID protocols by the Ugandan government is as follows:
- Fully vaccinated guests may travel to Uganda without obtaining a negative COVID-19 test prior to departure
- Fully vaccinated means having received 2 doses of a 2-dose vaccine, or 1 dose of a single-dose vaccine. There are no stated requirements for any boosters
- Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated guests must have had a negative PCR COVID 19 test done within 72 hours before arrival in Uganda. They must ensure they show no symptoms of any infectious disease before boarding
- Children under 5 years of age are exempted from both vaccination and pre-arrival testing requirements
- Vaccinated guests no longer require pre-departure testing, unless destination country or airline require it
- Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated guests must have had a negative PCR COVID 19 test done within 72 hours before departure from Uganda
- Guests who show symptoms will be taken by ambulance to Entebbe Hospital where infectious disease checks and a sample for COVID-19 tests are carried out. The results will be returned within 24- 48 hours during which guests remain in Entebbe at an approved facility
- If guests test positive for COVID-19 they will be taken to a COVID 19 treatment centre in Entebbe or Kampala, or repatriated for treatment at their own cost, following COVID-19 medical evacuation protocols
