From the Mara to the sea

The Private Kenya Bush and Beach Family Safari is an eleven day, ten night luxury family safari and beach holiday, from USD 63,950 per family of four. It pairs four nights in the private Jahazi Suite at Mara Plains in the Masai Mara conservancies, with four nights in the exclusive use Alfajiri Villas on Diani Beach, bookended by Nairobi. The price covers two adults and two children under sixteen, and is fully inclusive of domestic flights, private transfers, all game drives with a private guide and Land Cruiser, all park and conservancy fees, and at Alfajiri a personal chef, a butler and 24 hour nannies.

A luxury family safari and beach holiday in Kenya, built as two halves that a child never forgets. The drama of the Mara conservancies, then the reward of the Indian Ocean, both taken on exclusive use.

You begin in Karen, at Hemingways Nairobi, with the elephant orphanage, the Giraffe Centre and a coffee farm in the Limuru hills. Then you fly to the Mara.

The Jahazi Suite is a private tented villa over the Ntiakitiak River, with its own guide, its own vehicle, its own host and its own chef. Your family has it entirely to itself.

Mara Plains sits in Olare Motorogi, one of the lowest density and highest quality wildlife areas in the whole Mara. Low tourist numbers, prime big cat country, and one full day inside the main reserve. Your own vehicle means the days run on your children's energy.

Then you fly to the coast, and to Alfajiri on Diani Beach. Your own villa with its own pool, a personal chef, a butler and 24 hour nannies. Snorkelling to the reef by Ngalawa boat, a daily massage, and the whitest sand in Kenya.

Why we love this journey — It gives children the two things they remember most, the drama of the bush and the freedom of the sea, with nothing shared at either end. Your own suite, guide and Land Cruiser in the low density Mara conservancies, then your own villa, pool and nannies on Diani. The pace is yours from the first game drive to the last swim.

One price, for the whole family.

The things parents actually ask us.

How much is the Private Kenya Bush and Beach Family Safari?

From USD 63,950 per family of four in the Low Season, USD 73,000 in the Green Season, and USD 109,000 in the Peak Season, from June to October and over the festive period. The price is for two adults and two children under sixteen, and includes all domestic flights, private transfers and both exclusive use villas.

What is the Jahazi Suite at Mara Plains?

The Jahazi Suite is a private multi bedroom tented villa perched over the Ntiakitiak River at Mara Plains, with its own dedicated guide, vehicle, host and chef. Your family has exclusive use, and it sits inside the Olare Motorogi conservancy, one of the lowest density, highest quality wildlife areas in the Mara.

Why combine a safari with Diani Beach?

A bush and beach itinerary gives children the drama of the safari and then the reward of the Indian Ocean. Alfajiri Villas on Diani Beach are taken on exclusive use, with a private pool, a personal chef, a butler and 24 hour nannies, so parents rest as fully as the children play.

What is a bush and beach safari in Kenya?

A bush and beach safari pairs a wildlife safari with a stay on the coast. Here, four nights in the Masai Mara conservancies at Mara Plains are followed by four nights on Diani Beach at Alfajiri Villas, linked by a short flight rather than a long drive.

What is the best time for this family safari?

June to October is the Peak Season at USD 109,000 per family, with the Great Migration in the Mara and warm, dry weather on the coast. The Green Season from January to March is USD 73,000 per family. The Low Season in April to May and November to mid December is the value window at USD 63,950 per family.
