Angama Amboseli: the best honeymoon lodge in Amboseli for Super Tuskers and design lovers
Angama Amboseli opened in November 2023, from the team behind Angama Mara. It has 10 suites, and each one has uninterrupted views of Mount Kilimanjaro, from the bedroom to the shower.
The lodge sits in a forest of fever trees in the Kimana Sanctuary, where Super Tusker elephants roam. The raised infinity pool has a drinking trough, so elephants come to drink while you swim.
Each suite has a private patio with an outdoor shower and a double shower inside. Activities include sunrise pyjama safaris and tracking the Super Tuskers with sundowners.
You can fly between Angama Mara and Angama Amboseli by private airfield, which makes a very easy 2 camp honeymoon.

Kitirua Plains Lodge, An A&K Sanctuary: the best new honeymoon lodge in the Kitirua Conservancy
Kitirua Plains Lodge opened in 2026 as part of A&K Sanctuary, the Abercrombie & Kent camp collection. It sits on a 128 acre private concession in the Kitirua Conservancy, on the quiet western edge of Amboseli National Park.
There are 13 suites, and 11 of them are one bedroom suites of 116 square metres. Each has a freestanding bath, an indoor and an outdoor shower, and a shaded veranda. Mount Kilimanjaro is framed in floor to ceiling glass, so you wake up to it.
The infinity pool has a terrace of day beds. A spa offers treatments for two, and balloon flights at dawn are available on request. Dinners are five courses, and food and drinks are included.

Elewana Tortilis Camp: the best classic Kilimanjaro view honeymoon camp in Amboseli
Tortilis Camp has 16 tented rooms, also in the Kitirua Conservancy, on the edge of Amboseli National Park. It is known for one of the finest views of Mount Kilimanjaro in East Africa, and each veranda frames the mountain.
The camp runs on solar power. It has a pool and a spa, and the food is full board, with bush breakfasts and private dinners under the acacias.
Unlike the national park itself, a private conservancy allows more freedom. Tortilis offers guided walks and night drives as well as full game drives in Amboseli.

Campi ya Kanzi: the best Maasai community honeymoon lodge in the Chyulu Hills
Campi ya Kanzi is a Maasai community eco lodge in the Chyulu Hills. It has 6 tented cottages and 2 tented suites on raised wooden platforms with thatched roofs, and each has a private veranda.
Guests have 400 square miles to themselves. You can walk with a Maasai guide and tracker, ride horses, take a scenic flight or picnic in the hills. Meals are fresh Italian or local dishes, and the stay is all inclusive.

The best time for a honeymoon in Amboseli and the Chyulu Hills
The dry months, June to October and January to February, are best for game viewing. Elephants gather near the water, and Kilimanjaro is usually clear at dawn before the cloud builds.
The rains are heaviest in April and May, when the plains turn green and rates drop. For the clearest mountain views, plan your early starts for the morning.
How to get to Amboseli and the Chyulu Hills
Amboseli is about 4 to 5 hours by road from Nairobi. Most honeymoon couples take a short scheduled flight from Wilson Airport to the Amboseli airstrip. We arrange the flights and transfers for every camp.

This region is the perfect gentle start or finish. A common honeymoon is 3 nights here, 3 to 4 nights in the Maasai Mara and a few days on the coast or an island.
