Giraffe Manor: the best Nairobi honeymoon stay for breakfast with giraffes
Giraffe Manor is the Nairobi stay most couples have already heard of, and it earns the attention. The manor dates from the 1930s and stands in 12 acres of private grounds, about 20 km from the city.
The famous Rothschild giraffes wander up to the windows at breakfast. You can feed one from your table. It is hard to be anything but delighted.
There are 12 en suite rooms, 6 in the main house and 6 in the adjoining garden manor. The main house includes the Karen Blixen suite, and the garden manor includes the Finch Hatton suite.
Inside, there is a sitting room, a library and a wood panelled dining room. Guests also get free entry to the neighbouring Giraffe Centre. The manor can arrange visits to the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and the Karen Blixen Museum.
With only 12 rooms, space is limited. Plan your dates early, and tell us if you have flexibility.
